Retaining History

One of the things working on the Freedom Riders project has made me realize is how quickly history is fading.

When students take history classes, they study the founding of the United States and the Civil War; it’s somewhat rare for a history class to get to events that have taken place since WWII.

Everyday history is slipping away, and it’s our responsibility as students and historians to make sure that history is available to future generations.
